Our School . . . .

At Grassington School our main aim is to work with all our stakeholders, to help our children enrich their lives spiritually as well as academically and socially. Through our 7Cs code we want our children to feel valued, respected and feel included in our church school community.

Our school will aim for the highest standards through a broad, balanced and rich curriculum. Education will be the fusion of excellence and enjoyment. We want pupils at Grassington to be excited and engaged; to love learning and really enjoy belonging in our Christian school family.

English, Mathematics and Personal, Social and Emotional Development will be at the core of our pupils’ success in learning. We will build on our strengths to serve the needs of our children using the skills of everyone in the school. The school will drive its own improvement, setting our own challenging targets and striving always to do the very best for all our pupils at all stages of their education.

Learning will be focused on individual pupil’s needs and abilities. We have highly effective assessment for learning strategies, which enable knowledge about individuals to inform the way they are taught and learn.

Teachers and classroom assistants will provide a tailored approach to support learners with special educational needs and those who are gifted and talented will receive additional and appropriate levels of challenge to extend their skills and talents.

We strive to build a positive partnership with parents by providing good information and by continuing to knit our school into the fabric of our community. We will provide activities outside school hours to extend and enrich learning. These change termly in response to children’s interests and range from a recorder club, a sports club, a computing club, an enterprise club and a drama club.
